How to start up in macOS from Windows

  1. From the notification area on the right side of the Windows taskbar, click to show hidden icons.
  2. Click the Boot Camp icon .
  3. From the menu shown, choose Restart in macOS.
If you haven't installed the latest Boot Camp updates, you might get the message 'Could not locate the OS X boot volume.'
  1. Place your Macintosh Plus disks in. At minimum you'll need to include a Macintosh operating system file named System Tools.dsk as when choosing any dsk the launch script launches into the OS first by default.
  2. Honestly, I don't bother with FTP on the Mac. If your PI is on your network, which it would be if you are trying to use FTP, just open up a finder window, go to Shared, All and find RetroPie. Open it and you should see shares where you can connect to to BIOS, configs, roms and splashscreens.

Or use Startup Manager as your Mac starts up:

  1. Restart your Mac from the Start menu in Windows.
  2. Press and hold the Option (or Alt) ⌥ key as your Mac begins to restart.
  3. Select your Mac startup volume (Macintosh HD) in the Startup Manager window, then press Return or click the up arrow:

RetroPie is a collection of packages: mainly existing open source emulators (which DO run on Mac). Fire season: burn those cultists dead mac os. It's all the same. What RetroPie does is bundle all the emus together, runs a customized EmuStation which makes everything FEEL like a single program. Message To download and restore OS X, your computer's eligibility will be verified with Apple when installing older versions of Mac OS X for me every time meant only one: The certificate which is being used in the OS has expired. This will be correct for every OS later in the future (Sierra, High Sierra, etc).
